Adobe Floors

This is our favorite feature to add to a house.

Why choose an adobe floor?
Adobe floors have three qualities that make them stand out from other flooring; its excellent thermal mass properties, its resilient makeup and its natural feel.

These floors add thermal mass that absorbs the sun’s rays, and in return, radiate the heat over time.  Adobe also exchanges that heat more efficiently than any other surface.

The density and resilience of adobe floors gives you a durable surface, yet still lenient to pressure.  Finally, they lack the rigidity of concrete or tile, and instead provide that earthly feel that offers ease for the human body to stand, sit and live on.  By asking any homeowner that has an adobe floor, you’ll soon understand it’s powerful attributes.

Other benefits of adobe flooring:

  • Easy to clean
  • Customized details in character and beauty
  • Installed over nearly any subflooring
  • Works excellently with in-floor radiant heat tubing
  • Attractive in many diverse styles of homes, ranging from the original Pueblo southwest style to country cabin and to a traditional Victorian style house
  • What is an adobe floor?

    • The use of simple earthy materials; sand, clay, straw, and more.
    • Natural clay colors and oxide finishes
    • Natural oil sealers for quality and durability
